Born and raised in Pender Harbour, British Columbia, Dane Hanna made his international debut in 2019 and soon became a household name in the world of downhill skateboarding. Holder of the World Champion title, Hanna won the previous WRG in 2019, and was crowned the International Downhill Federations North American Champion the same year. Having already won one world championship, Dane is eager to defend his title at the 2022 World Roller Games, and once again bring home the gold for Canada.

Growing up in Pender Harbour, home to Danger Bay -- the world's first and longest-running downhill skateboarding race, Dane began his athletic career with Team Irene at the age of 10. Certainly, this contributed to Dane becoming one of the world's fastest downhill skateboarders, and a three-time Danger Bay champion. That may be why he's called Danger Dane, or it may be something else.

From the mostly flat lands of Toronto, Ontario Cam started skating downhill in 2007. He sharpened his skills skating with the Escarpment Surfers before traveling to race in the early 2010s. After over a decade of racing, a handful of injuries, and a lot of hard work he’s ready to represent Canada at the World Championship.

Lots of hard work has gone into where I am today. Becoming the number 1 Canadian downhill longboarder in Canada in only 2 years was only possible because of the massive support I’ve had from my friends from Abby Skate School.

I’d like to say thank you to my friends and family that have supported me along the way and am extremely excited to have the opportunity to represent my country at the 2022 Argentina World Skate Games this year. I am so happy I found downhill longboarding, it has brought me so much joy to my life and puts the biggest smile on my face when I am able to skate down hills at speed with my friends.

Tessa is pretty much the human version of a golden retriever. Always a little too hyped and happy to be here!

She grew up in Vancouver on the North Shore, spending her summers in Pender Harbour. Although both of those locations have a booming downhill scene, skateboarding was not her first love. Growing up she did a wide plethora of sports, many of them on boards, just not on the pavement... Which is why there is no surprise when she stepped on a skateboard and was completely obsessed. It was in Pender Harbour where downhill skateboard group, Team Irene, showed her how to bomb hills. The speed of downhill skateboarding and the exhilaration of racing got her hooked. She is very excited to compete in the upcoming World Skate Games as a Canadian athlete. Her goal, aside from winning, is to inspire non-traditional skateboarders and bring as many people into the sport as she can.

In 2013 I produced the documentary film "Spread the Stoke" for my Thesis Project at McMaster University, Hamilton ON. I won the University Thesis Award for Multimedia with this film about the international female longboard community and found skateboarding after a lifetime of varsity athletics. I won female athlete of the year grade 7, 8 and 9 in Caledon, ON. I competed with McMaster University Varsity Rowing team in 2008/09 and the McMaster Varsity Rugby team in 2009/10 and 2010/2011.

I began Downhill Skateboard racing in 2014 when I moved to BC. I placed 1st in the 2014 Skateboard Biathalon (Skate & Shoot) in Whistler, BC. I enjoyed lots of racing through 2014 to 2016 and am excited to be back in the scene to represent Canada at the 2022 World Skate Games. Downhill Skateboarding has been an incredibly positive influence on my life. It has helped me overcome mental struggles and build lifelong friendships.

Diane Hiebert

I wanted to be a professional snowboarder and looked for something to help me train in the off-season that was similar in style. Then I found longboarding through some old friends and saw my city of Abbotsford B.C. in a whole new light.

Now 11 years later of blood, sweat, tears, and many kilometers under my feet; I'm competing in Argentina 🇦🇷 to represent Canada 🇨🇦 for a second time. First time was in Barcelona, Spain 🇪🇸 for the World Roller Games in 2019. It's a true honor to be in this position again, and I'm excited to show the world what I got!

Hailing from the city with the first-- and only dedicated longboard park in the world, Finch began her skate journey with the Kamloops Longboard Club after returning from studying abroad.
